Limerick County Golf Club has just announced an exciting development at the range. The revolutionary practice facility called Power Tee has been installed at the driving range. Golfers simply pour their basket of balls into the underground hopper and a ball is magically presented to the tee. After the golfer has struck the ball, the Power Tee automatically delivers another at the same tee height.Posted by Administrator
Apart from being great fun to use, the Power Tee offers golfers of all abilities a unique opportunity to improve their game.
Power Tee is the invention of a young British designer who also happens to be a keen golfer. Having just taken up the game, Martin Wyeth, CEO of Golf-Tech Limited, was hitting balls at a driving range one day, with varying degrees of success, and became increasingly frustrated by the inefficiency of conventional practice due to the need to take one hand off the club and move feet after every shot to set up the next ball. He decided that it would make practice a lot more effective if a golfer could maintain grip and stance throughout, so he set about developing a piece of equipment that could tee the ball up for us.
Commenting on this development, Donal of Limerick County Golf Club told us:
“I know the Power Tees are going to be a big hit with our golfers. They are so easy to use and make practice much more effective, whatever your age and ability.
The fact that you don’t have to keep breaking your grip and stance to set up each new ball means that you can get into a really good rhythm – and that’s excellent for building a consistent golf swing.
Also, the Power Tee gives you a choice of four different standard tee heights and up to forty incremental heights simply at the press of a button so it means you can practice effectively with a full range of clubs.
As you’re not bending down between shots to set up the next ball you do feel a lot fresher at the end of hitting a basket of balls.
The fact that we are among the first driving ranges in the world to install this exciting new technology, really shows our commitment to providing the very best facilities for all our customers here at Limerick County Golf Club.”
Martin Wyeth said:
“We are delighted to be working with Limerick County Golf Club and Donal McSweeney and his team. They already have a fantastic facility, and by installing Power Tees are ensuring that their range is amongst the very best in the world. The golfers at Limerick County Golf Club should be proud to be using the same automatic tees as used at Wentworth Club, The PGA National Golf Academy at The Belfry and the Home of Golf,
St Andrews.”
To find out more, call Donal at Limerick County Golf Club on 061-351881 or, better still; make a point of visiting the range soon to test drive one of the new Power Tees.
