Limerick County Club now The Automatic Choice

Limerick County Golf Club has just announced an exciting development at the range. The revolutionary practice facility called Power Tee has been installed at the driving range. Golfers simply pour their basket of balls into the underground hopper and a ball is magically presented to the tee. After the golfer has struck the ball, the Power Tee automatically delivers another at the same tee height.

Apart from being great fun to use, the Power Tee offers golfers of all abilities a unique opportunity to improve their game.

Power Tee is the invention of a young British designer who also happens to be a keen golfer. Having just taken up the game, Martin Wyeth, CEO of Golf-Tech Limited, was hitting balls at a driving range one day, with varying degrees of success, and became increasingly frustrated by the inefficiency of conventional practice due to the need to take one hand off the club and move feet after every shot to set up the next ball. He decided that it would make practice a lot more effective if a golfer could maintain grip and stance throughout, so he set about developing a piece of equipment that could tee the ball up for us.

Commenting on this development, Donal of Limerick County Golf Club told us:
“I know the Power Tees are going to be a big hit with our golfers. They are so easy to use and make practice much more effective, whatever your age and ability.
The fact that you don’t have to keep breaking your grip and stance to set up each new ball means that you can get into a really good rhythm – and that’s excellent for building a consistent golf swing.
Also, the Power Tee gives you a choice of four different standard tee heights and up to forty incremental heights simply at the press of a button so it means you can practice effectively with a full range of clubs.
As you’re not bending down between shots to set up the next ball you do feel a lot fresher at the end of hitting a basket of balls.
The fact that we are among the first driving ranges in the world to install this exciting new technology, really shows our commitment to providing the very best facilities for all our customers here at Limerick County Golf Club.”

Martin Wyeth said:
“We are delighted to be working with Limerick County Golf Club and Donal McSweeney and his team. They already have a fantastic facility, and by installing Power Tees are ensuring that their range is amongst the very best in the world. The golfers at Limerick County Golf Club should be proud to be using the same automatic tees as used at Wentworth Club, The PGA National Golf Academy at The Belfry and the Home of Golf,
St Andrews.”

To find out more, call Donal at Limerick County Golf Club on 061-351881 or, better still; make a point of visiting the range soon to test drive one of the new Power Tees.

New Tee Up System arrives at Limerick County Golf Club

The Driving Range in Limerick County Golf Club is one step ahead yet again. The new automated tee up system has delighted users of the range over the past few weeks.

The system delivers the ball to a tee at a height selected by the golfer. The option to use the mat for irons is also available and even then the tee delivers the ball.

This type of technology is not a first for the range, Donal McSweeney consistently acquires state of the art gadgets to improve golfers swing, drive and distance. Another recent addition is the Explanar which relpicates the perfect swing thereby encouraging the golfers to imitate the result.

Donal is focussing on custom fitting as he believes that without the correct equipment golfers have failed before they begin their round. Donal explains that many shops offer this facility however to effectively measure and fit the clubs correctly, the flight of the ball needs to be seen.

Donal guarannees 20 years in 20 minutes - a must for golfers

How to correctly repair pitchmarks
Monday, September 10, 2007, 12:55 PM

The greens at Limerick County Golf Club are regarded as some of the finest in the county and to keep them in top condition it is essential that any pitchmarks are repaired as soon as possible. You may repair any pitchmarks on the green before putting.
Correctly repairing pitchmarks on the green takes a little time to do it properly but will improve the quality of our greens. Why not practice a little during your next round?

Correct Method
Discard the loose piece of turf taken out by the ball
Insert the pitchmark repairer tool just outside of the back of the pitchmark
Lever the turf towards the centre of the pitchmark
Repeat this motion from all sides of the pitchmark
Gently tap the repaired area with your putter. This action stretches undamaged turf over the pitchmark, providing instant recovery

Incorrect Method
DO NOT replace the loose piece of turf taken out by the ball. It will die and delay the healing process.
DO NOT pry up the centre of the depression with the pitchmark repairer as it exposes the soil and will delay the healing process
DO NOT insert the pitchmark repairer and twist it. This only breaks more turf loose
