The singles matchplay qualifier kindly sponsored by Universal Gardens was played over last weekend with a very large entry for this very popular event. 64 players qualified, with Sheamus O'Driscoll having the best score of 41points.Second Michael Molyneaux 39points and third Jer Butler also with 39points.The complete draw is available in the clubhouse with first round matches to be completed by Monday May 5th.

Juniors

Three junior events were played on Sunday. Cathal O'Neill playing off 18 was the winner off the white markers with a fantastic score of 45points. Darragh FitzGerald playing off 20 was the winner off the yellow markers with 42points. Conor Duggan playing off 28 was the winner off the reds with 29points (over 13 holes).

Due to the success of the 'Beginners Ladies Programme', run by The Irish Ladies Golfing Union with support from The Irish Sports Council, ladies are getting another opportunity to take up the sport in a fun, friendly and group based environment.
The programme is hosted by Limerick County Golf Club and is supported by The Irish Ladies Golfing Union and The Irish Sports Council. The programme provides a comprehensive introduction to golf and is aimed at ladies of any age who have not yet joined a golf club or even own a set of clubs. Ladies who have previously taken part in this unique and exciting programme have joined golf clubs and are active golfers.

Head PGA Professional Donal McSweeney from Limerick County Golf Club explains "The course is aimed at ladies who are absolute beginners to golf so no previous knowledge is required. The programme not only makes it easy for Ladies to start playing golf, but also helps them to progress to a level where they can compete with others, or simply enjoy playing a healthy, relaxing sport for the rest of their lives".

The All Ireland Corporate Games is the perfect outlet for organisations of all sizes to enjoy a weekend of activity and fun through a series of sport, leisure and social events. Competing with other companies in areas such as karting, table tennis, gaelic 7s and of course golf, organisations will benefit from an increase in brand awareness, employee and team spirit loyalty and also the possibility of meeting new clients.

The games will take place from June 20th to 22nd and the golf is to be played at Limerick County Golf Club. The format is Stableford with two 18 hole rounds to be played. The competition is open to women and men and the maximum handicaps are 35 and 27 respectively. All golfers will be entered in 3 individual events - rounds 1,2 and combined. Corporate teams consist of any 4 persons. All scores count.
